Emergency Fund - January 2022
Welsh Government has launched the Business Grant Emergency Fund, which is designed to support businesses directly impacted by the additional restrictions introduced on the 26 December 2021 due to the spread of Omicron. The funding is expected to cover businesses impacted from 13 December 2021 to 14 February 2022.
The scheme is to provide direct support to hospitality, retail, tourism and leisure businesses and the supply chain. The supply chain must be able to demonstrate a material impact of greater than 40% drop in turnover for the period 13 December 2021 to 14 February 2022 compared to the same period in 2019/20 or if a new business after that date, September/November 2021.
To be eligible for support from this grant scheme a business must have been actively trading up to the 13 December 2021 and are expecting to continue to trade until the 14 February 2022.
To receive the grant businesses must complete a registration form and the closing date is 5pm on the 14 February 2022.
For all businesses, the hereditament must have been on the NDR rating list as of the 1 September 2021 and the ratepayer needs to have been in occupation of the property as of the 30 November 2021.
Ratepayers eligible for Charitable Relief and Community Amateur Sports Clubs, not for profit organisations operating in the hospitality, retail, tourism and leisure sectors are eligible for the grants.
Self-Catering Units are not eligible for the grants under this scheme unless the unit can accommodate 30 people or more or the accommodation is classed as an outdoor education centre.
