Ysgol Bro Penfro (Welsh Medium Capital Grant & Pembrokeshire County Council Capital Grant)

Ysgol Bro Penfro is a new Welsh Medium School which accommodates a childcare provision for children 0-4, a 30 place nursery provision and mainstream provision for 210 pupils aged 5-11. Work commenced on the new school site in Bush Hill, Pembroke in April 2023 and the project was completed in July 2024. The school will play an important part in contributing to the aspirations set out in the Council’s Welsh in Education Strategic Plan (WESP).

Recent events

Project complete - 15th July 2024

The Ysgol Bro Penfro new school building was completed, with keys being handed to the headteacher and school governors on 15th July 2024. There will be an official opening of the building scheduled later in the year. 

Topping out ceremony - 14th November 2023

A celebration event was held on the site of the new school on Tuesday 14 November to mark the reaching of the highest point of the building, traditional known as the ‘topping-out’ ceremony. The event was hosted by Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd and attended by pupils and staff from Ysgol Gelli Aur, the executive head teacher of the new school, governors of the temporary governing body of Ysgol Bro Penfro, Cabinet members, senior officers of the Council, and a number of officers from the project team.
