Band A Projects

Broad Haven Primary School 

The project included a remodel of the existing building and outdoor areas with a new extension to the rear of the school for early years. The work was completed September 2015 and the school was officially opened by Council Chairman Wynne Evans on 25th November 2015. 

Gelliswick Church In Wales VC School

Gelliswick Church in Wales VC School is a 3-11 primary school, built as a replacement for Hubberston Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled Nursery and Primary School, and Hakin Community School. The school build was designed to offer the best quality education to all children in the Hakin and Hubberston areas and also includes community facilities. The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 9th March 2018.

Johnston CP School

Johnston Community Primary School was built to replace the previous building which was in poor condition. The school is a 3-11 primary school with places for 210 full-time pupils as well as an Early Years Unit and a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) for up to 20 children with complex or additional needs. The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 3rd February 2017.

Ysgol Harri Tudur/Henry Tudor School

This project involved a new build 11-19 secondary school to replace the former Pembroke School and to provide a fully accessible learning environment, including replacement sports pitches. The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 8th November 2018.

Penrhyn Church In Wales VC School

Penrhyn Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled School was established on 1st September 2017 following the closure of Angle VC School, Stackpole Church in Wales VC School and Orielton Community Primary School. It is a 3-11 primary school which serves the whole of the Angle Peninsula. The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 9th March 2018.

Ysgol Hafan Y Mor & Tenby CIW VC Primary School

This project transformed the former dual stream, Tenby VC Infants’ and Tenby Junior Community Schools, into two separate 3–11 primary schools. The project consisted of a new build school for Tenby Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled Primary School (English medium) and a major refurbishment of the former Tenby Junior building for Ysgol Hafan y Môr (Welsh medium). 

Tenby Church in Wales VC School was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 1st December 2016. Ysgol Hafan y Môr was officially opened by Alun Davies AM (Minister for Lifelong Learning and Welsh Language) on 13th February 2017.

Ysgol Bro Gwaun

The Ysgol Bro Gwaun project included the creation of a new teaching block, a Learning Resource Centre for pupils with additional learning needs and community learning facilities - this followed the school's reassignment as an 11-16 school. The second phase consisted of the demolition of the majority of the previous teaching accommodation and the creation of four Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), with the final phase being works to the retained building i.e. the existing hall, gymnasium and cafeteria. The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 3rd May 2018.

Ysgol Caer Elen 

Ysgol Caer Elen was established on 1st September 2018 following the closure of Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Glan Cleddau. It is a 3-16 school in Haverfordwest which addresses the growing demand for Welsh Medium education provision in the mid and south of the county.  The school was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM (Cabinet Secretary for Education) on 14th March 2019.

Ysgol Yr Eglwys Yng Nghymru Penrhyn Dewi 

Ysgol yr Eglwys yng Nghymru Penrhyn Dewi was established on 1st September 2018 following the closure of Ysgol Dewi Sant, Ysgol Bro Dewi Church in Wales VA Primary School and Solva Community School. The school operates across the three sites of the former schools and was officially opened by Eluned Morgan AM (Minister for Welsh Language and Lifelong Learning) on 30 November
