Fostering and Adoption

Fostering

Foster Wales Pembrokeshire (opens in a new tab)  is your Local Authority fostering service. We believe that with teamwork, passion and dedication we can help local foster children thrive in their communities.

We are part of the national non-profit network of 22 Welsh Local Authority fostering services working together to build better futures for local children.

We are dedicated to working as a team with foster carers to help build brighter futures for local children in Pembrokeshire helping them to stay local when it’s right for them.

We strive to provide all our foster children with a safe space to enjoy life, experience new things and be supported. With your help, we can.

By becoming a foster carer, you can make a huge difference to a child or young persons’ life. There are lots of different types of foster care to suit your individual needs and circumstances.

Alternatively, you might like to consider becoming a supported lodgings providing a stepping stone for young people moving on from foster care to independent living.

Adoption

Adoption Mid and West Wales has adoption teams covering the four local authorities of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Powys.  We want to make sure that children grow up as part of a permanent, loving family from childhood through to adulthood. We provide a range of services and resources to help families to care for their children but, where this is not possible, our Adoption Service finds permanent alternative families.

It doesn’t matter whether you already have children, whether you’re single or a couple, whether you’re married, unmarried or in a civil partnership.

Find out more about adoption here and abroad. We also offer support for people who were adopted and adoptive/birth parents.
