Recycling your batteries, vapes and small electrical items from home

We have introduced two new free kerbside collections for your small electrical items and your e-cigarettes and vapes as well as increasing the types of household batteries accepted.

 

Small electrical items

Place items loosely on top of one of your recycling containers. Please do not put these items in any container including single use plastic bags.

 We can accept:

  • Kettles

  • Hairdryers Hair straighteners

  • Toasters (4 slice max)

  • Handheld power tools

  • Handheld kitchen appliances

  • Radios & portable speakers

  • Irons

  • Extension leads and power cables

  • Battery chargers

  • Handheld bathroom appliances (shaver, electric toothbrush)

*Please remember items should be no larger than a kettle or toaster*

 

We cannot accept:

  • Televisions

  • Vacuum cleaners

  • Microwaves

  • Fridges or freezers

  • Air fryers

  • Food processors

  • Larger coffee machines (larger than a toaster)

 

E-cigarettes and vapes

Please put these in a separate clear single-use plastic bag, tie securely, then place on top of one of your recycling containers. Do not place in same bag as household batteries.

We can accept:

  • E-cigarettes and vapes (please remove batteries where possible and place with the household batteries)

  • Single use vapes (sale of these is banned in Wales from 19th June 2025)

 

Household batteries

Please put these in a separate clear single-use plastic bag, tie securely, then place on top of one of your recycling containers. Do not place in same bag as e-cigarettes and vapes.

 We can accept:

  • Household batteries such as AAA, AA B, C, D, DD and 9v batteries

  • Lithium-ion ‘button’ batteries, such as those in calculators, watches and hearing aids

  • Mobile phones

  • Batteries from e-cigarettes and vapes

  • Chargeable batteries from laptops, mobile phones and power tools

We cannot accept:

  • Car batteries

 

All accepted items will be collected weekly alongside your regular recycling collection. To check you collection date, visit our website Recycling search - Pembrokeshire County Council or contact us on 01437 764551.
