Music during a funeral service
At Parc Gwyn we have installed a bespoke music download system designed for use in crematoria to allow families to have any music of their choice played during the funeral service without the need to provide CD's.
If you would like to see what music is available to you, please visit Wesley Music (opens in a new tab) for our current music library.
If you require a piece of music which is not contained within our library you can pre-order your requirements through your Funeral Director.
Our duty organist will then schedule your music tracks to be played at the correct time within the funeral service.
For those who would still prefer to use an organist for traditional playing of music, then this service is also available to you.
Service recordings
We are aware that it can be distressing for families and close friends who may not be able to attend the Funeral service and in instances like this, families may be comforted to know that subject to an additional fee (see Fees & Charges) a range of facilities can assist in these events:
Service recordings are available to families in a variety of formats:-
Audio CD - An audio only recording can be requested at the time the arrangements are being made with the Funeral Director. The service will be recorded and after approximately 10-14 days, an audio CD will be produced. Once the CD has arrived, the Funeral Director will arrange collection from the Parc Gwyn Office or alternatively you may request for the disc to be mailed to you.
DVD - A DVD video recording can be requested at the time the arrangements are being made with the Funeral Director. The service will be recorded and after approximately 10-14 days, a DVD will be produced. Once the DVD has arrived, the Funeral Director will arrange collection from the Parc Gwyn Office or alternatively you my request for the disc to be mailed to you.
Remote viewing of a Funeral Service via the Internet
The remote viewing facility can be requested by the Applicant for cremation at the time of arranging the funeral. This facility offers families who cannot attend Parc Gwyn for whatever reason, the ability to watch the service online.
If this service is requested, the Applicant for cremation will be issued with a unique user name, password and instructions by the Funeral Director and will not be available to the general public. It will be possible to view the service live or a recording can be viewed online for up to 7 days following the service, but only after 24 hours have passed from when the service finished. This is to enable our provider to upload the recording to their website.
It is the responsibility of your Funeral Director, and the Applicant for Cremation to obtain consent regarding the broadcast of the service from the service officiate conducting the funeral service.
Overflow screens & outside speakers
For funeral services when there is a large attendance of mourners who may not all be seated within the building we have screens wall mounted within the waiting room, entrance lobby and outside under the porte-cochere. In conjunction with these screens we also have various outside wall mounted speakers to convey the service to all who have attend to ensure that everyone can hear and participate within the service.
Tribute screen
For no additional cost, memories of your loved ones can now be shared amongst all those in attendance at the Funeral service. Families may wish to provide a digital photo or collection of photos on a USB memory stick for displaying on our large screen mounted at the front of our Chapel. If more than one photo is provided then these can be set to be displayed as a slideshow.
When compiling photographs for saving onto a memory stick the following guidance will help to ensure that your photos are successful on the day:
- Do not place the photos within a folder on the memory stick.
- Ensure the photos are .jpeg /.jpg format only.
- If photos have been edited in Photoshop, when saving the file ensure that the format is not changed to a progressive jpeg as the file will then not be recognised on the screen.
- Ensure that no form of data protection has been applied to the file or memory stick.
- Remember, you are always welcome to bring the memory stick down in advance to trial when the service Chapel is not in use, a quick telephone call to our office will help to assist you with this.
- Please remember to pass the memory stick to your Funeral Director in advance of the service.
