Crematorium Memorials

The main form of memorial is to have an epitaph inscribed by hand in the Book of Remembrance by our calligraphers. Inscriptions can consist of the name of the deceased and as many as 200 letters. There is an option of having an appropriate hand painted illustration added to the inscription.

Entries are usually displayed on the date of death, although it is possible to choose any other date such as a birthday or anniversary. During office hours, a member of staff can turn the pages to a different date on request. However, at certain times individual pages are updated with new inscriptions. You will always be able to view your inscription a month before or after the anniversary date you have requested, but, to avoid disappointment at other times, it is advisable to check with the office before visiting Parc Gwyn.

To allow viewing at all times of the year a console in the Chapel of Remembrance provides digital images of the book. These can be enhanced with photographs and text. Access to this is via a swipe card, which is provided for everyone ordering an inscription in the book. The images can also be viewed online via the E-Book (opens in a new tab) 

Fold out memorial wallets inscribed with up to three epitaphs, photographs of the deceased and text such as a life history can be ordered for keeping at home. Memorial Cards bearing a single inscription and photographic prints of any page in the book are also available from the cemetery office. These are one way of maintaining access to an inscription throughout the year. It is also useful for those who are not easily able to visit Parc Gwyn. 

Inscribed Granite Plaques may be mounted on the walls of the crematorium building near the Chapel exit and in the Babies Memorial Garden. Inscribed Granite Kerbs can be installed along the path edges in the Garden of Remembrance subject to space being available.

Memorial donations towards the provision of bulbs and plants for the gardens are gratefully accepted.
