If your Council home has a garden, you as the tenant are responsible for looking after your garden. This includes:

• Cutting any grass
• Keeping gardens yards or driveways tidy and free of rubbish
• Keeping any shrubs, trees and hedges at a reasonable height, not allowing them to overhang a neighbouring property or communal areas.

The Council is responsible for maintaining existing main access paths (but not garden paths), steps, fences to mark the boundary of the property walls.
