The Pembrokeshire Family Information Service offers a range of free support services for childcare providers in Pembrokeshire, including:
- Advertise your childcare service to parents for free
- Assisting in setting up new childcare provision (e.g. childminding, nursery, after school club)
- Childcare business support and start-up grants
- Training opportunities, funding and courses for childcare workers.
A team of Development Workers are also there to help new childcare providers get their business off to a sound start. In addition, they are offering ongoing support, help and advice to existing providers, assist groups to develop their provision, offer support to promote good practices and help with any CIW issues. The demand for staff in childcare has increased in recent years, and is set to increase further as a result of Welsh Assembly Government policies to provide more childcare and education places for young children.
