The rate of local housing allowance

The rate of local housing allowance (LHA) that will be used in the calculation of housing benefit is dependent on your family composition and your postcode.

Local housing allowance has been capped at the 4 bedroom rate, even if your family composition would normally require a property larger than the 4 bedrooms, your benefit will be based on a 4 bedroom rate.
