If you hold a secure Occupation Contract you have the right to exchange your home with another secure occupation contract holder. An exchange of properties is a useful way for people to be re-housed where contract holders would not get a high priority to transfer.

How do I find another secure contract holder who I can swap with?

Pembrokeshire County Council occupation contract holders can register for free at HomeSwapper (opens in a new tab). Once you have entered all your details, Homeswapper will provide you a list of contract holders who meet your criteria.

You can also find your own swap through word of mouth, social media, friends etc.

Once you have found someone to swap with, all parties will need to complete a form available via the link above by phoning the Customer Contact Centre on 01437 764551

How do I apply for a Transfer/Exchange?

If you have found another secure contract holder to exchange with all parties should complete the Mutual Exchange Application form

This should be returned to your housing officer in the tenancy management team.

You may be refused permission to exchange, or consent may be withheld, if:

You are in arrears with your rent
You are in breach of any of the contract conditions, eg unauthorised alterations, damage to property. non access for safety certificates,
Your property, or the property you wish to exchange to, does not meet the households needs, ie size, adaptions, age restrictions etc

It is important that you never pay or accept money in a swap.

What if I want to move to another home elsewhere in Wales or the UK?

If you wish to move away from Pembrokeshire you can still apply in the same way as described above.
