What are the effects of radon?

Most radon gas breathed in is immediately exhaled and presents little hazard, however the decay products of radon are radioactive which exposes employees to increased health risks. Radon is the second largest cause of lung cancer in the UK after smoking and so precautions may be needed if your staff work in a high radon environment.
