Approved premises (licensed venues)

Approved premises are venues which are licensed to hold civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies. Pembrokeshire offers over 50 premises throughout the county which includes:

  • castles
  • country houses
  • hotels
  • converted barns
  • glamping sites.

All are situated in some of the most romantic, historical and beautiful areas of Pembrokeshire - from deep in the heart of the countryside in the north, along breath-taking rugged coastline, to beach towns in the south.

There is an amazing variety of venues in Pembrokeshire, which means you can have your legal ceremony overlooking the coast or countryside, on a beach, next to a river, in a walled garden, amongst castle ruins, in a quarry or in a woodland.

Please see our  full list of approved premises

Pembrokeshire Archives ceremony room

At the Archives we have a lovely, large ceremony room able to hold up to 60 guests on a Saturday and 30 guests during the week. The room is available Wednesday – Saturday and has a large, free car park adjacent to the building.

Pembrokeshire Register Office

A working office for simple registrations.

Other locations

While legal ceremonies can only take place in our office or at approved premises, we can attend any location to conduct a ‘celebrant led’ ceremony.

This could be an unlicensed venue, your home or on the beach. You will need to have the proprietor or landowner’s permission to hold your ceremony, and we will have to make a site visit (included in the ceremony fee) before the ceremony.

Please note: we are only responsible for delivering the ceremony. You would need to make all other arrangements including arranging insurance if required.

Ceremonies outside Pembrokeshire

You can get married or form a civil partnership at any registration office or approved venue of your choice in England and Wales, irrespective of the district in which you live. You will need to make arrangements direct with the register office or approved venue. You can obtain a full list of licensed buildings from the General Register Office.

Holding your ceremony abroad

If you are entering a marriage or civil partnership ceremony abroad you should ensure that you understand and follow all the regulations according to the laws of that country. You will almost certainly be required to provide certain documents and in some instances a Certificate of No Impediment, which is available from the Register Office. We advise that you contact the consul for the country in which you wish to get married.
