Life Hub

Health and Well-Being

The Life Hub: Health and well-being at Pembroke Dock Library aims to help individuals and communities in South Pembrokeshire by providing a space to access good quality information leaflets, magazines and books for improving health and well-being in an informal and convenient location. The hub is free for members of the public, local community groups and charities to use.

The Life Hub: work & money skills launched in Fishguard Library in February 2016.

About the project

The Life Hub at Pembroke Dock was developed by the Cultural Services Department of Pembrokeshire County, and was made possible thanks to a grant from Welsh Government which enabled two areas of the library in Water Street to be refurbished.

The first area has informal seating equipped with books, DVDs, leaflets and magazines together with a personal computer dedicated to providing information on health.

The second area is a small, private wheelchair accessible consultation room which includes comfortable seating and tea-making facilities.

The aim of the hub is to bring together health and well-being information to help local residents make informed choices about their health.

The facility was officially opened on Wednesday 25th February 2015 by Professor Sir Mansel Aylward, Chairman of Public Health Wales and Director of the Centre for Psychosocial and Disability Research.
