Housing Strategy
Pembrokeshire's Housing Vision
Pembrokeshire’s Housing Vision is encapsulated within the Mission statement set out within the Programme for the Administration 2022-2027
We will be innovative in dealing with the housing challenges we face by ensuring the people of Pembrokeshire have access to a suitable home which is of a high standard, affordable and improves their quality of life
In developing the priorities for the Pembrokeshire Housing Strategy 2023 – 2028 we have taken into account the local, regional and national policies and priorities of Pembrokeshire County Council, our Regional Partnerships and Welsh Government respectively. Through our analysis of these priorities and taking into account the evidence base presented regarding Pembrokeshire’s housing challenges we have established 5 key priorities for our 5 year Housing Strategy.
Partnerships in Housing
It is acknowledged that our current housing pressures and achievement of the vision above, cannot be achieved without significant partnership working with our key partners including our Housing Association, private developers, third sector partners to name a few. Both operationally and strategically, housing services and developments interact daily with other services and agencies in delivering on our housing needs. A number of formal partnerships already exist on a local, regional and national footprint; and are either led by or the Council are partners on these groups. These include:
Locally – Choice Homes Allocations Partnership, Affordable Housing Operational Group, Housing Support Programme Partnerships.
Regionally – Regional Partnership Board with various subgroups related to capital accommodation and integration strategies, Swansea Bay Homes as Power Stations, Subject matter regional groups on Empty Homes, Housing Standards, Probation and Homelessness, Substance Misuse and Complex Needs, Social Housing Grant and WHQS.
Nationally – Forums related to – Housing and RSL Leads, Homelessness, Probation, Housing Development.
The Strategy will reference the establishment of additional partnerships locally where these are seen as needed.
