Blue Badge (Disabled Parking)

* It is the responsibility of badge holders to re-apply in plenty of time to ensure they have a valid badge bearing in mind it can take up to 28 days to process an application.*

Parking places for blue badge holders have been provided in all charging car parks in accordance with guidance issued by the Department for Transport.

Disabled motorists must purchase and display a valid ticket but will receive an additional one hour free parking. They must also display a valid blue badge and clock.

The Blue Badge Scheme is designed to assist people with a permanent and substantial walking difficulty, cognitive impairment or other mobility issue, to park close to where they need to go.

A Blue Badge is designed to help people live an independent life; allowing them to travel as the driver or passenger to work, to undertake shopping or access other services they may need.

Eligibility for the scheme is decided by the Welsh Government. However, each Local Authority is responsible for administration and assessments.
