Animal Establishment Licensing
The Council is responsible for ensuring that the following types of animal establishments are licensed. All establishments receive an annual visit and are required to comply with licensing conditions.
- Animal Boarding Establishment
- Dog Breeding Establishment
- Riding Establishments
- Zoos
- Dangerous Wild Animals (DWA)
Legislation also requires people, in certain circumstances, that keep Performing Animals to be registered with the Council.
If you are concerned about the welfare of any animals within a licensed establishment or believe that there is an establishment trading that is not licensed please contact us.
Pembrokeshire Establishment Award Scheme
The Council has pioneered an initiative to reward and encourage licensees that keep their establishments to a high standard. The annual Award, the first of its type in Wales, rewards licensees that go above and beyond compliance with license conditions and standards of best practice.
