Mentoring

Mentoring provides an opportunity for experienced Social Workers to develop your practice and consolidate your own knowledge in a rewarding role.  We provide regular dedicated mentoring skills training in-house and our mentors have an opportunity to attend regular solution-focussed peer group sessions, providing you with a safe environment to share your mentoring experiences and contribute to your own personal development.

'I found the training very informative and it helped me to clarify what a good mentor looks like. It also helped me understand the boundaries that need to be in place, that mentoring is very different to supervising. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a mentor.'

'Undertaking the mentoring course and supporting NQSW encouraged me to undertake the Practice Assessor training and I am now enjoying being a Practice Assessor. I think it is very good way of progressing your social work career and hopefully if the NQSW has a positive experience this will then encourage them to become a mentor one day.'
