Appreciative Supervision

Good supervision is essential to your effective practice, personal development and wellbeing, which is why we consulted widely with Social Workers using the appreciative inquiry model to look at best practice supervision. The result is our new strengths-based Supervision policy and training model, which focuses on recognising best practice, strengths, risk, motivation and learning designed to build on a culture of wellbeing and positivity.

The aim of the policy is to develop confidence and resilience by putting our employees at the centre of their supervision, so that you feel safe, trusted and valued, providing an opportunity to reflect on what has gone well and share good practice.

'I don’t think I’ve seen a supervision policy that is more congruent with the core principles of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014'

'You should feel really proud of what you’re achieving and your approach to supervision should have a positive effect on the morale of your staff'
