Social Services Minibus Transport

Pembrokeshire County Council's Social Services operate a fleet of 18 fully accessible vehicles, which carry people to and from day centres and social activity centres throughout Pembrokeshire. The buses undertake approximately 115,000 client journeys each year, of which 17,000 are for wheelchair users.

All passengers transported via this service are referred by our Social Services.

These vehicles are made available during evenings, at weekends and over public holidays to voluntary groups who work with elderly/disabled people. The largest vehicle available can carry up to 3 wheelchairs together with 13 passengers. A mileage rate is charged that includes fuel and insurance and groups must provide their own driver(s).

Drivers are required to undergo Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) training as a condition of the hire arrangement. Seven days notice is required for arranging this training session.
