Assistive Technology

Assistive technology is the overarching definition of telecare and telehealth equipment including community alarms.

Assistive technology is based on the premise that older, disabled or vulnerable people should be able to remain independent for as long as possible should they choose to do so. Telecare systems can support independence and well-being. It enables family, friends, neighbours or carers to respond to a crisis in a timely way.
