Personal Assistant

The Direct Payments Recipient (The Direct Payments Recipient is the employer, and they hold all the employer’s responsibilities associated with this role. Pembrokeshire County Council supports them to fulfil their employer obligations). A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support them. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client. They should be able to support the client to make their own decisions around their care needs and encourage them to maintain their independence.

Job Description:

We are looking for a friendly, reliable female Personal Assistant to support a young adult in becoming more confident and engaged within their local community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creativity, social interaction and helping others build independence. The PA will provide one-to-one support, helping the individual access and participate in community activities, develop new skills and build confidence in everyday situations.

 
Interests & Activities


The individual enjoys:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Cooking and baking
  • Exploring local community opportunities

Support will focus on encouraging participation in these interests as well as gently introducing new activities and social opportunities.

Hours & Flexibility:

  • 8 hours per week
  • Flexible days and times (to be agreed together)

Preferred Candidate:

  • Patient, understanding and supportive
  • Encouraging and positive approach
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to individual needs
  • Experience in a similar role is desired

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting access to community groups and activities
  • Assisting with arts, crafts, and cooking sessions
  • Promoting independence and confidence
  • Providing companionship and emotional support

A full, clean driving licence is preferred.

Benefits:

5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata)

Sick pay at SSP rate
