Integrated Transport Unit
Integrated Transport Unit
The Council’s Integrated Transport Unit (ITU) coordinates and commissions a range of passenger transport services on behalf of the authority. This includes statutory school and social care transport services and local public and community transport routes. The ITU also looks after the Council’s fleet.
In total, we coordinate over 200 school and college transport routes, transporting over 4000 learners every day. We also manage the network of local bus services, including around 20 fixed route bus services and 5 demand responsive Fflecsi zones, together providing around 700,000 passenger journeys per year.
We work with around 40 local bus, community transport and taxi operators to provide these services and also run services in-house.
