Conclusion

• Our commitment to the development of the Welsh language in the county is reflected in the Corporate Strategy 2025-30, Welsh Language Strategy 2021–26 and the Welsh in Education Strategic Plan 2022-31.
• This annual report demonstrates that progress and improvements are being made but there are also improvements to be made in specific areas, with work already in progress or scheduled to take place in 2025-26.
• We are committed to making these improvements and areas identified as requiring attention will be used to inform and shape the development of the next 5-year Welsh Language Strategy which will cover the period from 2026-31. Development of the next Strategy is underway as part of the work of the Welsh Language Strategy Delivery Group.
• The achievements in 2024-25 and beyond ensure that we comply with the standards, support and progress our Welsh Language Strategies and Plans, and contribute towards the Welsh Governments ambition to see the number of people able to enjoy speaking and using Welsh reach a million by 2050 (Cymraeg 2050: A million Welsh speakers).
