Welsh Language Standards Annual Report 2025-26

Purpose of the Report

  • This report provides details of how Pembrokeshire County Council has implemented and complied with the Welsh Language Standards (No.1) Regulations 2015 during the reporting period April 2025 - March 2026. The standards explain how the authority is expected to deliver specific services through the medium of Welsh with the aim of ensuring that the Welsh language is not treated less favourably than the English language.
  • The full list of the standards, with which Pembrokeshire County Council is required to comply, are contained within a Compliance Notice (opens in a new tab).
  • Standards 158,164 and 170 require us to publish an annual report, which sets out how we have complied with standards for: Service delivery, policy making, operational, promotional and record-keeping.
  • In line with the reporting requirements of the Welsh Language Commissioner key performance indicators and activities to support compliance and promote the Welsh language during 2025-26 are detailed. Indicators include standards related to calls to our Contact Centre, Council website and social media, translation, staff language skills, posts advertised requiring Welsh language skills, training, and courses to learn/improve Welsh and complaints received related to the Welsh language. The report also provides details of events to promote and celebrate the Welsh language and culture.
  • We are required to publish our annual report on our corporate website by 30th June.
