Help with school meals and costs
Extra help with school costs: Pembrokeshire Education Support Grant
If you’re facing exceptional circumstances, you may be able to get extra help through the Pembrokeshire Education Support Grant (PESG).
This is a local discretionary fund for families who need urgent support.
What it means
The grant provides additional financial help of up to £125 per child for school-related costs when families are in crisis or dealing with sudden changes.
Who can apply
You can apply if:
- Your child is in school in Pembrokeshire
- Your family is experiencing exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Sudden school move
- Emergency financial hardship
- Crisis situations affecting your child’s education
What the grant can cover
Like the School Essentials Grant, it can help with:
- School uniform and shoes
- Sports kit
- School bags
- Equipment for lessons
- IT equipment
- Costs linked to urgent school changes
How to apply
You cannot apply online for this grant. Applications are handled by the SUGS team and assessed by our Education Welfare Service Manager.
