Volunteer with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Volunteering with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a rewarding way to support young people and make a real difference in your community. Volunteers play a vital role in helping participants successfully complete their award and gain skills that will stay with them for life.

There are a range of ways to get involved, including supporting DofE groups, mentoring young people, and becoming an Expedition Leader or Supervisor. Expedition volunteers help plan routes, teach navigation and campcraft skills, and support teams safely during their expeditions. Full training and ongoing support are provided, and previous DofE experience is helpful but not essential.

By volunteering, you’ll help young people build confidence, resilience, and independence, while also developing your own leadership, outdoor, and communication skills. If you enjoy working with young people and the outdoors, volunteering with DofE is a meaningful way to give something back and help the next generation achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
