Religion, values and ethics
Each local authority in Wales is required to prepare and periodically review an Agreed Syllabus for Religion, Values and Ethics. All maintained schools must have due regard to this syllabus when designing their RVE curriculum.

RVE is mandatory, and there is no parental right of withdrawal.
Collective worship
All locally maintained schools must provide a daily act of collective worship for pupils, aged 5-16.
